Making Colorado Grown Cider The Montezuma valley is nestled in the southwest corner of Colorado, about seven hours drive from Denver, and it has some great old apple trees that have survived drought, fire, and even prohibition. Last weekend I brought back 500 gallons of fresh pressed juice from these historic […]
The In-Cider Juice
C Squared Ciders First Anniversary Week Details
I can hardly believe it has already been a year since we opened C Squared! As I write this, the “juice box” that is our home is full of the fruity smell of cider fermenting away and also the malty aroma of the first batches of beer being brewed over at Bierstadt Lagerhaus. It seems to be an opportune time to take a breath and realize all that we have accomplished over the past year and plan a party to celebrate, pat ourselves on the back, and say thank you to the people who have helped us on the way.
Saturday July 2nd Anniversary Party
From 2-8PM we will be closing down our parking lot and setting up an outdoor concert, car and motorcycle show. We will be selling our cider and the Rackhouse will be serving food outside, but we are not charging any admission to our party. The car and bike show is open to anyone with a pre-1969 automobile, any customized chopper or classic motorcycle, or any modern era car that is heavily customized. Show participants will be the only ones allowed to park their rides in the venue parking lot next to the stage and will receive a ticket for a free cider. We will also have prizes for best classic car, bike, and custom. The Atomic Drifters will start on our outdoor stage around 2PM, playing classic rockabilly and surf guitar music, and Denver’s best original rock-n-roll band the Hot Apostles will be performing after them until 8PM, with a DJ in between. Car show participants may come and go from the lot at any time. We will have our garage door open and people may come and go into the building for shade or seating. The Rackhouse restaurant will be open for business as normal and guests who wish to have liquor or beer may do so there as we will only be serving cider in the parking lot. We also plan to have some games and activities. Feel free to email or call me if you have any questions about the event: firstname.lastname@example.org / 970-222-2135.
Here at C Squared, we put a lot of consideration into what goes into our cider (and also what does not go into it). For this first blog I want to introduce people to Robert Touslee, whose lavender goes into our Lila cider. Robert is a cider fan and came sniffing around C Squared before […]
